arowana fish price OHF question
My OHF setup as follow:top: wool filter
middle: jap filter
bottom: mr aqua
my bottom layer (mr auqa) seems to be constantly submerged... can any bros advise what is setup wrongly? also is the media selection optimal? Thank you!
(3x2x2 tank with x2 oranda x5 ranchus; tom 800 pump)

what flowrate u using? seem too strong and mind showing ur outflow?
>TOM 800 is about 3k/litre per hour. i was using 2.5k per hour for 4ft 4tier ohf and it is ok. do lower your flowrate.. change to 1.5k to 1.8k pump.
japmat + thin layer of cotton at top, middle and bottom can put aqua cr.
>oh.. tom800
paiseh.. old man didnt see
u can maybe remove the outflow elbow if u wan so flow can be faster
>Goldfish dont like jacuzzi
Elbow for outlet is ok, face the tank wall to disperse the current.
I feel that ur current arrangement for the bio media is ok, top layer is always reserve for the white wool.
>remove one layer of the white wool. The amount of poo that your GF generate will stop the flow from the rain bar once the white wool is dirty. Either drill another hole below or get a lower flow rate. Refer to the link on how i drilled additional return pipes
>your OHF should be raining water on your media and not submerging them
this is to encourage max BB growth as they love oxygen
>Thanks for all the bros who took your time to answer my queries. It looks like I have 2 problems
Problem 1: Water is not clearing fast enough
- i have removed the top layer wool and it seems to reduce the problem slightly. no overflow through the side but the 1st level wool and 3rd level mr aqua is still partially submerged... the rainbar is only hitting 50% of the surface area, mostly central. Should I modify or change the rain bar?
Problem 2: Tank feels like jacuzzi...
- how do i resolve this? reduce the flow of the tom800? get a new pump?
Enlightening needed ... thank you.

Enlightening needed ... thank you. personally think that you should reduce the flowrate. rainbar will be even out, no more submerged medias.
>Can make ur own custom rainbar, hole sizes can vary. One thing i like about Mr Aqua OHF is that they can be customised any way you want. Will share my setup either later tonight or tomorrow evening. (Tonight got night class hahaha)
